1. The Joy of Giving.

2 Corinthians 9:7 — Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

God wants you to look beyond your (own) needs, and focus on sharing your time, energy, money, and knowledge with others — minus the attitude.

2. Give Freely, Get More.

Proverbs 11:25 — Give freely, and you will profit. Help others, and you will gain more for yourself.

God wants you to be like Him. He wants you to be generous with your time and resources —knowing that you will be rewarded in ways that you can’t even imagine.

3. When You Need Wisdom.

James 1:3 — if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. God is generous. He enjoys giving to all people, so God will give you wisdom.

God is ready, willing, and able to share His wisdom with you. All you have to do is ask for it.

So instead of letting your emotions direct your behavior — ask God to bless you with wisdom and the ability to act/react with grace and discernment.

4. His Loving Grace.

2 Corinthians 9:11 — God will give you enough so you can always give to others. Then many will give thanks to God for sending gifts through us.

There’s a reason God blesses you as much as He does. It isn’t so you can hoard it all for yourself — it’s so you can be a blessing to others, and honor God in the process.

5. His Power is Limitless.

Isaiah 40:29 — He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might, He increases strength.

God wants you (and everyone) to be strong in character. He wants you to draw your strength from Him in times of weakness and uncertainty so He can share his power and grace with you.

And then, perhaps most importantly, He wants you to be a gentle, loving, and self-sacrificing person as He delights in giving you the gift of His grace.

We serve a giving God and He wants us to serve others by following His example of generosity.
